App Event Tasks

App event tasks use connected apps as triggers. They are useful when Type has a supported event source for the connected app.

App areaExample task
GitHubReview new PRs, summarize issues, react to repository updates.
LinearTriage new issues, summarize priority changes, draft updates.
SlackBring Slack channel messages into Type, then respond when the teammate is mentioned or when the teammate is configured to auto-reply.
  1. Confirm the app connector is configured.
  2. Choose the supported app event source.
  3. Write instructions for what the teammate should do with the event.
  4. Confirm the teammate has the connector and skills needed to act on the event.

Avoid broad triggers that create noisy work. Start with one high-signal event, then expand once the teammate consistently produces useful results.
