App Event Automations
App event automations use connected apps as triggers. They are useful when Type has a supported event source for the connected app.
Supported app-event patterns

| GitHub | Review new PRs, summarize issues, react to repository updates. |
| Linear | Triage new issues, summarize priority changes, draft updates. |
| Slack | Bring Slack channel messages into Type, then respond when AI is mentioned or when AI is configured to auto-reply. |
Setup checklist
Section titled “Setup checklist”- Confirm the app connector is configured.
- Choose the supported app event source.
- Write instructions for what AI should do with the event.
- Confirm the Space has the connection and skills needed for the event.
Keep triggers narrow
Section titled “Keep triggers narrow”Avoid broad triggers that create noisy work. Start with one high-signal event, then expand once AI consistently produces useful results.
