Type Overview

Type is a shared workspace where your entire team can collaborate with Claude or Codex using the subscriptions you already pay for. It connects AI to the tools, knowledge, and data your company already uses, so people can ask questions, take action, and build documents, dashboards, and apps together. Everything stays in one place, visible and reusable by the whole team.

Type is organized into Spaces. Each Space is a shared computer for a department like Marketing, Sales, Support, or Engineering. Everyone in a Space shares the same integrations, skills, memory, and AI setup, giving Claude or Codex the context it needs to deliver useful results.

Instead of creating a different agent for every job, create one Space for each department. Use channels to organize its projects and workflows. Your team gets structure without having to reconnect tools, copy skills, or rebuild context every time priorities change.

A Space gives every channel the same computer, connections, skills, and memory. You do not have to reconnect your tools, recreate a skill, or figure out how to share context every time a new kind of work comes up.

The result is simple:

  • Marketing can connect its campaign tools and data once.
  • Engineering can keep its repositories, technical skills, and project memory together.
  • Support can map customer channels and recurring workflows into one place.
  • Everyone with access can see the same threads, prompt together, comment, and keep the work moving.
  1. Create one Space for a department or durable team.
  2. Choose Claude or Codex, then pick the model you want to use.
  3. Add the connections and data that department needs.
  4. Add skills for the workflows your team repeats.
  5. Create channels for projects, topics, or Slack conversations.
  6. Start a shared thread and invite coworkers into the work.
  7. Build documents, dashboards, and apps as the work becomes more durable.

Use Type in the browser, desktop app, mobile app, or Slack. Slack channels can map to channels in a Space, so updates flow to the right place and your team can ask Type for help without leaving Slack.
