Composer
The composer is where you write messages in threads, pings, Sidekick, and teammate conversations.
What you can add
Section titled “What you can add”Use the composer to:
- Write a normal message.
- Mention a human teammate.
- Mention an AI teammate.
- Mention a connected app.
- Invoke a skill.
- Attach files.
- Decide whether the AI should respond.
Message formatting
Section titled “Message formatting”Messages support Markdown formatting. Use $...$ for inline LaTeX math and $$...$$ for display math. Currency written as normal prose, such as $12K budget, renders as text. Escape ambiguous literal dollar signs as \$.
AI reply control
Section titled “AI reply control”Some messages are requests for the AI teammate. Others are human discussion around the work. Use AI reply control so the thread can support both modes without forcing an agent response every time.
Good composer habits
Section titled “Good composer habits”Give the teammate the outcome, constraints, and relevant files or apps. If the task should follow a known workflow, invoke the relevant skill instead of restating the workflow manually.
