Email and RSS Automations

Email and RSS automations start work from inbound messages or feed updates. They are useful when work begins outside a connected app.

Email triggers

Each Space has an inbound email address. Send email there when a person or system should start a thread in Type.

Use email triggers for:

• Vendor or customer requests.
• Forwarded alerts.
• Intake from tools that can send email but not webhooks.

RSS triggers

RSS automations monitor feeds and ask AI in the Space to summarize or react to new posts.

Use RSS for:

• Product changelogs.
• Competitor blogs.
• News feeds.
• Public job posts or release notes.

RSS feed URLs must be public HTTP or HTTPS URLs. Type blocks localhost, private network, link-local, metadata, and internal hostnames.
