Account, Appearance, and Desktop App
Some settings belong to you rather than a shared teammate or workspace.
Account
Section titled “Account”Use account settings for personal profile and sign-in-related details.
Appearance
Section titled “Appearance”Use appearance settings to choose display preferences such as theme behavior.
Desktop app
Section titled “Desktop app”Type also has a desktop app. Use the desktop app when you want Type available outside the browser with native app behavior. Download the Type desktop app.
Notification settings
Section titled “Notification settings”Personal notification defaults affect what reaches you. For teammate-specific notification behavior, see Notification preferences.
Email settings
Section titled “Email settings”Open Emails in settings to choose which emails Type sends you.
For account emails, one level applies at a time:
- All emails: every update about your account, teammates, and workspace activity.
- Action required and critical emails: day-to-day actions you need to take, plus critical alerts.
- Critical emails only: only critical alerts and legally required messages.
For marketing emails, opt in or out of each category: New features and updates, Offers and promotions, and Feedback and surveys. Use Unsubscribe from all marketing emails to override the categories with a single switch; your category choices are kept and restored if you turn it back off.
Changes save immediately. There is no separate save button.
You can also unsubscribe directly from any account or marketing email using the Unsubscribe link in its footer, or your mail client’s built-in one-click unsubscribe. Marketing emails unsubscribe you from all marketing; account emails drop you to critical-only. Transactional messages you request — such as team invitations — always send and carry no unsubscribe link.
