Notification Preferences
Notification preferences decide what alerts you receive and what appears in Inbox. Anything you get notified for can become an Inbox item.
Where preferences live
Section titled “Where preferences live”Notification settings can exist at multiple levels:
- Account or workspace defaults.
- Per-teammate notification preferences.
- Sidekick notification preferences.
Common patterns
Section titled “Common patterns”| Teammate type | Notification pattern |
|---|---|
| Critical teammate | Notify on threads and mentions. |
| Task-heavy teammate | Notify only on mentions or important results. |
| Experimental teammate | Keep quiet until the workflow is stable. |
| Sidekick | Tune separately so personal work does not drown out team work. |
Keep Inbox actionable
Section titled “Keep Inbox actionable”If Inbox feels like a full activity log, reduce notifications. If important work is missed, increase notifications for the specific teammate or trigger that owns it.
What creates Inbox items
Section titled “What creates Inbox items”Inbox is downstream of notifications. Mentions, replies, direct pings, teammate activity, and task results can all appear in Inbox when your preferences say they should notify you.
