Read, Unread, and Dismissed
Notifications separates unread and read updates. Following keeps read and unread cards together, with a visible marker on unread cards.
Unread
Section titled “Unread”Unread identifies activity you have not read. Use Mark unread to make an update prominent again. Marking a subscribed thread unread restores an existing notification or creates an in-app reminder; it does not send a new browser notification or sound.
Read items stay visible but no longer count as new. Opening an item or choosing Mark read updates its read state and matching thread read state. Following cards remain in their date group after reading.
Reading an approval or other request does not complete it. Complete the action in the underlying thread, document, app, or integration.
Dismissed
Section titled “Dismissed”Use Dismiss to remove a notification from Notifications. Dismissal does not close or delete a thread, change its subscription, or resolve a request. Clearing a notification also does not archive its Following card.
Bulk cleanup
Section titled “Bulk cleanup”Use bulk actions when the Inbox is caught up:
- Mark all as read clears the unread state of active notifications without resolving requests. Previously dismissed notifications do not change other threads’ read state.
- Dismiss all removes notifications from the view without resolving their underlying requests.
