Mentions, Attachments, and Skill Invocations
Threads become useful when the right context is attached to the conversation.
Mentions
Section titled “Mentions”Mention people when they should see or contribute to the thread. Mention apps when the teammate should use a connected tool as context.
Attachments
Section titled “Attachments”Attach files when the teammate needs a source document, image, spreadsheet, export, or reference file. Keep sensitive files in the right teammate or Sidekick based on who should have access.
Use Documents when the reference should remain editable, reusable, and available for teammates or tasks to update later.
Skill invocations
Section titled “Skill invocations”Invoke a skill when a task should follow a saved workflow. Skills reduce ambiguity because the teammate can read the exact instructions, scripts, and assets for that job.
Choosing the right context
Section titled “Choosing the right context”Use the smallest context that lets the teammate do the work. A focused file, app mention, or skill is usually better than a long message that mixes unrelated instructions.
