Inbox Overview

Inbox brings together updates that concern you and new work from the Spaces and Channels you follow.

Inbox has two views: Notifications and Following.

Notifications

Notifications includes mentions, replies to threads you subscribe to, and requests that need your action. It can also include document activity, new files, app updates, and integration issues.

Notifications separates unread and read updates. Its badge counts unread notifications, including requests and activity whose external notifications are muted. Reading a request clears its unread count without completing the request.

Use a thread’s subscription control to start or stop receiving its updates. Following a Space or Channel controls discovery of new threads separately.

Following

Following shows new root threads from the Spaces and Channels you follow, grouped by date. Following a Space includes its Channels. Opening a card marks it read; read cards remain visible, and an unread marker identifies the cards you have not opened.

The Following badge counts unread followed threads. Following a Space does not subscribe you to every reply in every thread: subscribe to an individual thread when you want its updates in Notifications.

Process the inbox

Open an item, review what changed, and respond or take action if needed.

In Notifications, use Mark read, Mark unread, or Dismiss. Bulk controls let you mark notifications read or dismiss them. Dismissing a notification does not close its thread or resolve the underlying request.

Notification preferences control interruptions such as browser notifications and sounds. Muted activity remains available in Inbox.
