Glossary

A role-specific AI agent in Type. It has a cloud computer, harness (agent runtime), custom instructions, connectors, skills, tasks, threads, and visibility settings.

Your private AI teammate. It is scoped to one user and personal context.

An app, API, or data-source integration Type knows how to use.

A configured instance of a connector, usually authenticated with OAuth, an API key, or custom API settings.

A reusable workflow made of Markdown instructions and optional scripts or assets.

A schedule or event trigger that starts teammate work without a person manually opening a thread. Tasks were previously called Automations.

Useful context Type saves from prior workspace activity. Memory can belong to the whole organization, one AI teammate, or one user.

An editable written file for reports, knowledge bases, briefs, SOPs, and other work that people and AI teammates can create, reference, revise, share, and update.

A teammate-built web app for structured tasks such as trackers, CRMs, dashboards, queues, and internal workflows. Apps can have their own database and can use connected integrations.

The sidebar surface for browsing what your channels have created, including apps, documents, PDFs, uploaded files, and version history.

A conversation or task surface where humans, AI teammates, apps, files, skills, tool calls, and previews stay together.

The message input where people write thread replies, mention people or apps, attach files, invoke skills, and control whether AI should respond.
