This week we shipped improvements to Slack, Google, and custom API integrations, more powerful agent capabilities and skills, along with several quality-of-life improvements. Let us know what else you'd like to see us build.
Integrations
-
Supercharged Slack: Your agent can now search across your entire Slack workspace via MCP, send images back into Slack, and reply with a more native experience that keeps follow-ups in the right place. Connecting and onboarding are smoother too: select the channels you want and your agent starts reading from them immediately.

-
Custom APIs: Connect any third-party service by entering an API key or OAuth 2 credentials. Once connected, your agent can make authenticated requests to that service’s endpoints. No code or middleware required.

-
Google Shared Drive: Agents can now access files stored in Shared Drives, not just your personal My Drive. Select which Shared Drives to connect and agents can read and reference those docs.
Agent capabilities
- Desktop and browser control: Agents can now operate a full desktop environment: open apps, click through UIs, fill out forms, and navigate websites. You can turn on recording to get a video of exactly what the agent did.
- Sub-agents: An agent can now spin up additional agents to handle parts of a task in parallel. Instead of completing steps one-by-one, it delegates chunks of work to sub-agents that run simultaneously and report back.
- File uploads and attachments: Agents can send files directly into your conversation (images, CSVs, PDFs, etc.) and receive files you attach to your messages. No external file-sharing needed.
- Codex as a harness: Codex is now available as an agent harness in Type. Choose it when creating or configuring a teammate to run Codex’s tooling directly in your workspace.
- Bring your own Codex billing: If you already have Codex access, connect it to use your own Codex billing while running agents from Type.

Skills
- Scripts and reference files: You can attach executable scripts and reference documents directly to a skill. Edit them in-place. This gives you full control over what a skill knows and what it can run.
Quality of life
- Close threads with
e: Presseto close the current thread. It works the same way as resolving it. - Copy as markdown: One-click copies any message as formatted markdown, ready to paste into docs or PRs.
- In-app help and bug reporting: Access documentation and submit bug reports without leaving the app.
- Background and theme customization: Change your workspace background and color theme in settings.
