Introducing Apps & Documents

Your AI can now build interactive apps with persistent data and collaborative documents you edit together in real time. Both live in the new Library.

Documents

  • Collaborative pages: People and AI can create and edit documents together in real time. Live presence shows who is viewing or editing.

  • Version history: Every change records which conversation produced it. Trace any edit back to the thread and context behind it.

  • Import from anywhere: Import directly from Google Docs or Notion without exporting first. Upload .docx or .md files and convert them to editable documents. Notion zip exports import in bulk.

  • Share publicly: Set access to “anyone with the link” for public documents with authenticated preview and download.

Apps

  • Build real tools, not throwaway demos: AI can build interactive web apps with persistent data that syncs across your team. Ask for a tracker, dashboard, calculator, or internal tool and keep using it after the conversation ends.

  • Shared live data: Every app has a built-in database. Your team sees the same data in real time, and AI can update it from a conversation.

  • Share with anyone: Set any app to “anyone with the link” and share it publicly. Anonymous visitors can use the app fully, including reading and writing data.

The Library

  • Everything your team has made: Browse apps and files from the Library in your sidebar. Apps get their own tab. Files holds documents, PDFs, and uploads.

  • Upload anything: Add files up to 1GB. PDFs open in a full viewer with text-selection comments. Other files get a preview or download card.

  • CLI support: The Type CLI supports documents list, push, pull, and sync. Pipe content from stdin, set visibility with --public, and get share URLs back.

Secure by default

  • Flexible access: Share an app or document with specific people, private Spaces, the workspace, or anyone with the link.

  • Share when you’re ready: Keep access narrow for internal work. Turn on a public link when you need external review, and revoke it at any time.

  • Everything stays in Type: Data lives in your workspace, not a third-party service. Agents work within your existing permissions. No new credentials, no separate admin console.
